So you’ve decided to become a hypnotherapist. Now what? If you’re like many starting in the industry or have an established practice, you might be wondering how you can draw more clients to your practice and increase your revenue. There’s no way around it: life has simply become more expensive. In today’s ever-changing world, making “six figures” doesn’t mean you’ve made it. It means you might just be getting by.
For those who are natural healers and want to pursue a career making people’s lives better: you didn’t get in the hypnotherapy industry to become wealthy. You did it because you want to help people overcome their mental, physical, and emotional challenges. Or, you did it because you’re fascinated by the human mind and the potential to help people unlock the secrets buried within.
Whatever your reason, you also deserve a life worth living, and whether we like to admit it or not, that includes making more money. All of your efforts to help people mean nothing if you cannot support yourself and achieve success in your practice.
Crunch the numbers
Crunching the numbers and figuring out how much you need to earn to live comfortably are the necessary first steps to ensuring you’re pricing your sessions correctly. The average hypnotherapy session is about 2 hours. For anyone starting out, I recommend you sell your sessions in blocks and not individually. By doing so, you’ll stop feeling like a constant salesperson and have room to focus on nurturing your existing clients.
The worst thing you can do is undersell yourself. Never offer your services for free. Not only will this diminish your credibility, but you’re also not doing yourself any favours financially. Anytime you offer your services for free, clients think they are doing you a favour and forget that these sessions benefit them.
Money has the power to change the way we look at ourselves. When you continually sell yourself short, you’re building pathways in your brain that will inevitably lead to you believing you only work for free. Even if you only feel comfortable charging $10 a session, it’s better to charge something that nothing at all. After all, you got into hypnotherapy to authentically help people, and you can only do that from a place of strength.
Unlock your earning potential
Anyone in the hypnotherapy industry knows that word of mouth is key to driving more customers to your practice. But often, you have to plant the seeds before anything can blossom. The seminar “Millionaire Mind Intensive” by T Harv Ecker helped me change my mindset about marketing my business. After taking his 3-day in-person course, I was able to go from making $10K per month to $30K per month. Part of getting the word out is keeping the conversation going. Potential clients are everywhere. Whether in line at the grocery store, at the park with your kids, or even enjoying a night out with friends, it’s essential to keep tying the conversation back to what you do—hypnotherapy.
Another educational tool that helped me grow my private practicum was the bestselling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki. The lessons in Kiyosaki’s revolutionary book challenged me to start my own business and go after the life I deserve, and they can help you develop a growth mindset too. As a young woman, this book opened my eyes to new earning potential and how to take advantage of the different benefits of running a business (like helpful tax write-offs).
Let’s be honest, it takes a level of skill to reach six figures as a hypnotherapist, but the potential is there. My course can help you unlock your earning potential and teach you the key to easily surpassing $100,000 in annual profits.
