A Sparkly New Experience

So are you ready to create the life you want? Are you willing to do what it takes to be, do, and have your every desire? In this post, I’m going to show you how to make that possible.

In the first post of this series, we learned how our thoughts and subconscious beliefs are shaping our experiences. We learned that our belief systems were created when we were too young to have a sense of logic and reasoning to explain the reality of what we were experiencing, and we learned that the beliefs created from those experiences gave rise through the law of attraction to similar experiences, situations, relationships, and health issues.

In our second foray together, we learned the basics of how the mind works and the technical details behind hypnosis.

Let’s now put everything together and see just how to get going on that dream life!

Once again, our subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between fantasy and reality. This is important because a root cause hypnotherapy session is basically an exercise in re-creating the past in a way that creates supportive new beliefs.

To begin, I have all of my clients talk about how they are feeling currently about a situation they’d like to change. For example, one of my clients has had the experience of repeatedly not getting her needs met in relationships. For her, this takes form in difficulty getting physical affection, intellectual stimulation, and sometimes even getting help with household chores. By asking my client how she feels when these situations arise, her emotions can be used as a map for her subconscious mind to move back in time to the memory of the very first time it felt that way. This first time is usually the situation that caused the belief to be formed, and it is this belief that is causing the current situation, and therefore, similar emotions to present themselves over and over. When my client went back to the first time she felt those emotions associated with neglect and not getting her needs met, she discovered in her memory that when she was a young child with many siblings, her mother, with so many responsibilities and children, was unable to give my client the attention she craved. Since my client as a little girl didn’t have the benefit of logic to help her understand that her mother loved her but was simply busy, she developed a belief that she didn’t deserve love and attention. As she grew, this belief in my client’s subconscious, attracted many more situations that matched this belief and she found herself in relationship after relationship in which her needs were not met.

Changing these beliefs was a fairly simple matter. I first allowed my client to express any feelings she still had from that time as a little girl. Allowing my client to vent in this way helped her to get rid of any old toxic emotions, and made it easier for her to forgive the people involved. These toxic emotions are what most often cause physical illness in the body, so getting rid of them is essential for healing.

I also helped my client to understand why the events unfolded as they did. Introducing logic and reasoning into the situation can help not only to dissipate any last remaining emotions, but also helped my client to understand that some of the beliefs she developed were in error, thus making them easier to let go of.

After that, I guided my client to imagine the situation in a more supportive way. Remembering that the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between fantasy and reality, I had my client imagine being a little girl once again, but this time, imagining that her mother gave her the time and attention she craved. I encouraged her as much as possible to feel the emotions she would have felt if this had really been her experience. Most clients find that they’ve been craving the support so much that the emotions spontaneously present themselves overwhelmingly. This is of great advantage. Allowing these emotions to surface, and envisioning new memories, creates a whole new set of beliefs, ones that immediately begin attracting new situations much more to my client’s liking.

Now you may be wondering about the old memory where my client experienced feeling neglected. The old memory will remain, especially at a conscious level, however, what my client will find, is that the “real” memory no longer holds any emotional meaning for her. It will feel rather like she’s watching a movie with no attachment to the characters. The new “imagined” memory is what will feel good to her, and of course it is what will be creating her new experiences.

This is why I love hypnotherapy so very much. The results are quick, deep and permanent.

Of course, not all issues can be worked through in one session. Sometimes the formations of belief systems are complex and what we think was the memory associated with the formation of a belief is not exactly the right one. This is why I have a six-session policy in my practice. Like peeling away an onion, when we take off a layer, in the form of exploring where a belief came from, and the resulting situations it causes, sometimes we uncover something else we didn’t know was underneath. With each layer we peel, we expose more. But like the onion, with each layer we take off, the core becomes smaller and much more manageable. Sometimes this process takes one session, but sometimes it takes six or more.

Perhaps most excitingly, what you’ve learned here can also be applied in a simple way to your own life right now! If there is something you want to achieve, desire or lack, you can use the following simple technique to help shape your belief systems. The best time to do this is as you wake up in the morning when you are still a little sleepy. I like to use the time between snoozes for this purpose! First, I decide what I’d like to change. Something simple to work with is more money. I begin by taking a few minutes and imagine myself as a tiny baby. I pretend that even from birth, my family has lots of money. I create my dream nursery and imagine what it would feel like to live in such an opulent place. I try to create it in my mind using as many of my senses as possible; touch, sight, sound, and smell. I spend a few minutes feeling that, then I move on to a time when I’m older. Perhaps I choose a time around aged five. At this point, I imagine that I know that I’m wealthy and perhaps even imagine that my parents have gotten me a “money tutor” to help me learn to manage my cash flow. After a few minutes of feeling that, I imagine myself at aged ten, where I begin making my own successful investments and find myself independently wealthy by age 15.

It will seem strange to do this exercise at first, perhaps even a little fake, but with time, you will know what it feels like to be wealthy, and even begin to believe that you are. Once you do that, you’ll see immediate changes in your cash flow. This technique worked for me, and not only that, the more I do it, the easier and faster I’m able to manifest what I want.
